Use your fall apple harvest in this wonderful Raw Apple Cake recipe

This recipe came from one of our readers. She rediscovered it in her mom’s old recipe box – it was one of her favorites as a young child. Thanks for sharing, Laurel!

Raw Apple Cake


  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 2 t cinnamon (cardamom )
  • Mix all then fold in
  • 4 cups chopped Apple ( peeled or not )
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Batter will be stiff. Add to 11x 13″ baking pan and bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hr.


  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 12 oz can of evaporated ( not condensed ) milk
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 T cornstarch

Add all ingredients to a pan and cook on low heat whisking the ingredients until it comes to a boil and is the consistency of pudding.

Serve the crumbly cake from the baking pan. The cake will be moist and yummy and you don’ t have to be an experienced baker to get this right. Enjoy!
